Popular TV Shows with Gay (and other non-heteronormative) Characters: I saw someone comment on an article (I think a Chick-fil-A related one) that said 90% of people are disgusted when they see people of the same sex kiss. So I thought Hm, if that’s the case then why can I think of a dozen POPULAR TV shows with gay characters? (And also, just that statement shows how ignorant this person is about human sexuality. If 10% of people are gay (science) and 90% of people are disgusted by gay people (his idiot logic) then there would be not such thing as allies, and equality laws would never pass and gay friendly TV shows would fail instantly).  In no particular order: Pretty Little Liars Gossip Girl American Horror Sotry Mad Men Skins (British and American) Greek Glee Heroes Buffy the Vampire Slayer  Saving Hope Sandal Smash Ringer Revenge Being Human Fairly Legal Shameless The Playboy Club Spartacus The Big C Downton Abbey Lost Girl Gigantic Degressi: The Next Generation (also has a transgender character) Boardwalk Empire The Vampire Diaries The Good Wife Make It or Break It White Collar Southland Sons of Anarchy  True Blood Torchwood (the main character originated on Doctor Who) Brothers and Sisters Ugly Betty Weeds Bones Grey’s Anatomy  Commander in Chief  House Rescue Me Entourage  Battlestar Galactica Lost Veronica Mars One Tree Hill Nip/Tuck The O.C. Note: three of the shows (The New Normal, American Horror Story, and Glee) are produced by Ryan Murphy.  While the new normal hasn’t aired yet, just the fact that it’s being picked up is awesome. (And commercials for are aired during the Olympics!) Not all of these lasted long, and not all of them have main gay or other queer characters (though many do).
