Openly Gay Actor Rupert Everett “can’t think of anything worse than being raise by two days”.
What the hell, man. What the hell.
Firstly, I would like to clarify that HE WAS NOT raised by two men.
Secondly, though he believes that children would be best off being raise by a mother and a father, he ran away from his mother and father at 16 and become a prostitute for drugs and money.
Wow. Your hetero-normative parents did a smashing job. Clearly, having a mother and a father did wonders for him.
His mother has met his boyfriend, but said “I’d like him to have a pretty wife. I’d like him to have children. He’s so good with children. He’d make a wonderful father. But I also think a child needs a mummy and a daddy”. And she’s made that clear for him.
So his straight parents (at least straight mother) thinks he would make a wonderful father because he’s so good with children, but he shouldn’t have any just because those kids would have two parents. I mean two loving parents. I mean two dads.
So, Rupert thinks having a mother and a father is best when his parents don’t support him and made him run away into drug prostitution. Sound logic.
I guess it’s good that he says he doesn’t belong to “any community”, because I’m pretty sure the gay one wouldn’t want him.
He also thinks the whole gay marriage thing is ‘ “tiresome” because of all of the “middle-aged queens” who are so terribly “egocentric and vain” at the movement’s forefront’.
I’m not sure if this means he doesn’t support gay marriage, or if he legitimately feels like it’ll go nowhere because everyone who supports gay marriage is an egocentric and vain middle-aged queen. (I guess lesbians don’t push for gay marriage).
But he doesn’t really have to worry about marriage equality when he lives in England where he can get married…
He also has said that coming out has ruined his acting career (though he has been on TV this year and has a few films in production).
Now, I understand that when he came out in the years of the dinosaurs people were much more anti-gay, and more people supported the idea that gay actors can’t play straight. BUT He actually encourages gay actors today to stay in the closet. And besides, even if that were true, there are so many gay characters on TV now it wouldn’t really be an issue.
(Be prepared for a ridiculous amount of posts about gay actors who play straight characters).
The article I’ve gotten these facts from has also mentioned that he has a pretty sour disposition. Maybe people don’t want to work with him because of his personality. (I mean look at what he thinks about gay people? He clearly has some internal homophobia, and low self-esteem.) That’s very common in the industry. You have to be a mega star to be a diva and a terrible person.
This fool is dragging gays down the tubes. Don’t be this gay. Be a gay we’d all be proud of.
